MYCO Apprenticeship and Graduate Scheme

Training the next generation of talent in the construction industry is a big part of who we are at MYCO. We believe in investing in the future and giving our teams access to development opportunities to ensure they are empowered to achieve for themselves, and to deliver for our clients for years to come.

We offer a number of ways for young people to get into the construction industry. From apprentices joining us to hone their crafts, to our graduate scheme, which enables university graduates to launch their construction careers, or regularly seeing school pupils to join us in our offices and on site for work experience to get their first taste of the industry, we love seeing young people find their passion for construction.

As part of this work, we have been running a series of ‘focus training sessions’ for our graduate scheme participants and apprentices. These sessions are part of how we ensure their on-going success in the industry and that they all get access the best practical experience to understand how things work on a live site. The training helps to underpin their experience from the schemes with practical experience and develop a broader understanding of what occurs on a big construction development. Sessions on the focus training sessions have included underpinning, basement construction, temporary works, waterproofing, and external cladding.

Jack Kilker, who is currently on our graduate scheme said of his experience, “During the past year on the MYCO Graduate Scheme, I have built on the knowledge/skills I learnt through my degree and have been given opportunities to apply this to live project scenarios. I have gained hands-on experience and have been actively involved in making key design decisions whilst on site and within design workshops. The Graduate scheme has provided me with the resources, support and responsibilities required to help me grow and progress my career in construction.”
